At the helm of Botswana's creative renaissance stands the government of Botswana in partnership with Mr Steve Harvey. Together, they champion a visionary initiative intended to invigorate Botswana's creative economy. Their collaborative effort is dedicated to nurturing local talent and fostering growth within Botswana’s burgeoning television and video production industries.
With a strategic focus on training and development, the initiative seeks to cultivate a cadre of skilled professionals equipped to produce high-quality indigenous content while also creating content that caters to the needs of international productions. Central to this endeavour are the newly inaugurated:

TV Academy
The Botswana TV Training Academy offers production training in scripted and unscripted entertainment, providing hands-on experience with internationally recognised production experts. Intakes start in June 2024 and Jan 2025.

Wildlife Film School
The Botswana Wildlife Film School trains individuals in wildlife production, aligning with international standards upheld by renowned international natural history units, fostering excellence in wildlife filmmaking. Intakes start in May and October 2024.
TV Shows
One of the most popular game shows in the world is coming to take Botswana by storm! This fun filled show pits two families against each other to see who can correctly guess the most answers to questions surveyed from the general public! With cash prizes including a Jackpot of P50 000 up for grabs and laughs guaranteed, Family Feud is bound to be a hit! Each family of 5 will travel to the iconic set to pit their wits against the legendary Mr. Steve Harvey.

Can I attend more than one course per year?
No. You can only attend one course a year, however, you may apply for a different course next year.
I have an idea for a show. Can I present it to someone?
You can't present it to someone on this platform, however, all our courses teach the business of television where you would get the skills and strategy to know how to package and pitch your show. In addition to the courses, some of the masterclasses will teach unique aspects of this process so sign up to be notified about when these would take place.
Can I attend any of the courses if I am not a Motswana?
Unfortunately not. These courses are for Botswana citizens only.
Is there an age limit for attending any of the courses?
You must be older than 18, and there is no upper age limit.
How much does it cost to enrol in a course?
The courses are at no cost. Please see eligibility documents for further information.

Will I be sharing accommodation at the Wildlife Film School?
Yes – all students will be in shared accommodation. You will be sharing with someone of the same gender.
